It was when nearing my 28th birthday last
Saturday that I realised I have a major problem.
I am absolutely terrible with money.
I spend every single penny I have and seem to have nothing worthwhile
to show for it, except for shelves and shelves of beauty products. It seems
that my two true passions are spending money and buying make-up. I feel like it’s
the time to get a grip!
I’ve tried over the past few years to clear my debt which
started in 2010, the first year of my undergraduate degree. However, nothing
seems to have worked for me and I’ve gone from having a £1000 overdraft which
could be easily paid off, to now owing £20.5k… I’m shocked at myself every
month that so much of my pay check goes on paying off debt that I have nothing
to show for, so I decided to make this blog for people like me. People who have
okay jobs, but are living in big cities, having to pay rent knowing that owning
their own home is probably some a distant dream that will never come true.
There’s so many articles about how millennials waste their
money and that’s the reason we will never be able to afford our own houses, but
there isn’t much information on what to do if you are one of those millennials who
has a spending problem and doesn’t know what to do about it.
So here I am! I’m here to clear my debt, clear my clutter
and make a new start.
Join me on this treacherous journey. I hope I make it to the
other side.
